These homeowners beautifully restored this historic home and did a marvelous job in developing the areas around the home themselves but needed help in integrating the side of the home that faces the street into their landscape. The area was previously a weedy, shady area on a steep slope that offered drainage challenges. In addition, providing a solution of convenient traffic flow all around the house was important in terms of function in entertaining and enjoyment of the outdoor rooms. |

A woodland garden was designed with meandering informal pathways traversing across the steep slope. A bluestone patio / walkway was suggested tying in the front patio with the side of the home offering additional space for entertaining and easy access to the rear of the property. The hardscape materials chosen complimented what already existed in the front and was fitting in terms of the era of the home. These clients installed the patio, paths, steps and plantings themselves and did a beautiful job executing the design - saving plenty of money yet having a professionally designed result. |

| Note: After pictures
were taken right after the installation. In a few years the landscape will
be filled in beautifully with very little maintenance. |
