New Construction

The Design Challenge:
Before (Click to enlarge)

Brand new construction offered a blank slate for these homeowners. The down side is everything needed to be done and while they planned to do much of the work themselves, they wanted to be sure they ended up with a professionally designed landscape.

Deer are very prevalent in the area therefore, deer resistant plant material would be a must. While the homeowners were unsure about a future pool, they asked that we position one in the design for future consideration.

The Design Solution:

The architecture of the home would permit a formal or informal landscape and both ideas were presented as part of the Conceptual Design stage of the design process - the more informal landscape style was chosen.

A paver driveway and two walkways leading to the front door were designed and color chosen to compliment the brick home. Many plant materials could compete or clash with the tones of red in the bricks of the home and so a theme of blue-green foliage, maroon, greens, yellows and purples were suggested.
